The Healthcare Hero Award
The Alliance for Healthcare Excellence annually recognizes and celebrates the individual contributions that its members make by donating their time and talents to activities that promote access to affordable, quality health care.
The Healthcare Hero Award is presented to any candidate who satisfies these requirements:
1. During the 12-month period beginning October 15, 2007 and ending October 15, 2008, the candidate performed a minimum of 25 hours of voluntary, uncompensated service in an activity that promotes access to quality, affordable health care and otherwise improves the healthcare industry in the community.
2. The application of the candidate, along with all required supporting documentation, is received by the Alliance for Healthcare Excellence Community Service Committee before midnight on October 16, 2008. Please use the Healthcare Hero Nomination Form to nominate your Healthcare Hero.
Candidates who satisfy these requirements (as determined by the Community Service Committee will receive a certificate, recognition at the November 2008 annual meeting, and automatic entry as a candidate for the 2008 Alliance for Healthcare Excellence Hero of the Year Award.
Healthcare Hero of the Year Awards
The Community Service Committee will select a recipient to receive each the following awards from the among the 2008 Healthcare Hero recipients:
2008 Ron J. Anderson, M.D. Healthcare Servant Leadership Award: The Alliance for Healthcare Excellence annually presents the Ron J. Anderson, M.D. Healthcare Servant Leadership Award to recognize outstanding dedication and leadership in the promotion of access to quality, affordable health care. The selfless and dedicated contributions made by Dr. Anderson and Parkland Health & Hospital System to the preservation and expansion of access to affordable, high-quality health care services lead the Alliance to name the award after its first recipient, Dr. Anderson. The Ron J. Anderson, M.D. Healthcare Servant Leadership Award memorializes this extraordinary leadership. The Alliance hopes that its annual presentation to individuals or organizations will celebrate other exceptional contributions and encourage new acts of courageous leadership.
2008 Healthcare Quality Hero of the Year Award: For exceptional contribution to the improvement of health care quality in the community.
2008 Healthcare Access Hero of the Year Award: For exceptional contribution toward improving access to health care for the underprivileged.
2008 Healthcare Affordability Hero of the Year Award: For exceptional contribution toward improving the affordability of health care coverage and services in the community.
2008 Healthcare Education Hero of the Year Award: For improving patient participation through activities that increase patient awareness of the rights and responsibilities within the health care industry. |
